The workshop Dramaturgy Lab departs from the concept of dramaturgy as it is defined within performing arts and explores the dramaturgical process as a catalyser within the broader context of contemporary creative fields. During the workshop the participants will analyse the mechanisms of dramaturgical process that might be described as a cognitive action which sets in motion against the problematics of meaning and interpretation; they will experience how the dramaturgical process might be applied to various other disciplines where the emphasis is on storytelling, expression or communication.
Dramaturgy Lab is open to all participants with an interest in exploring what the dramaturgical process is and how it works, as well as what functions it might have when applied to other disciplines; all who wish to experience dramaturgy in and as a process are invited to participate in this workshop that aims to evaluate together and make valuable various different perspectives. Anne-Marije van den Bersselaar is also the dramaturg of the dance project DisLokasyon (DisLocation) that will premiere in December.
