Winners of the 15th Edition of Akbank Short Film Festival Announced
Winners of the 15th Akbank Short Film Festival have been announced. The festival received 1.406 short film applications from across 68 countries for “National and International Film Competition” sections. We congratulate the directors of the winning films as a result of the jury's evaluation.
In the national category, “Ablam” directed by Burcu Aykar was honored “Best National Film Award”. The national category’s mention award was presented to three different filmmakers with three productions. “Titanyum” directed by Gökçe Erdem, “Sana İnanmıyorum Ama Yerçekimi Var” directed by Umut Subaşı and “Kurbağa Avcıları” by Batuhan Kurt were awarded mention prizes.
“All These Creatures” directed by Charles Williams was honored “Best International Film Awards” and “Detainment” directed by Vincent Lambe was awarded “Jury Special Prize”. Moreover, the international mention awards went to “The Field” directed by Sandhya Suri and “The Summer of Electric Lion” directed by Diego Cespedes.
Beside best shorts and mention awards, this year’s Akbank Short Film Forum competition supported three screenwriters. “The Best Screenplay Award” went to “Tapınak'' written by Murat Uğurlu and “Screenplay Jury Special Prize” went to “Gece Babamızı Ararken” written by Alkım Özmen. In this section Enes Yurdaün and his screenplay “4 gün 3 gece” has the mention prize.
The “Audience Award” was presented to Alican Yücesoy’s “Taş” film as a result of the votes from cinema-enthusiasts following the festival with great interest.
