Seminar: Fair Cultural Cooperation

This seminar will explore how dialogue and collaboration between civil society organizations working in the cultural and artistic fields and municipalities across Turkey can be fostered through joint projects, taking inspiration from the “Collectively: Culture, Dialogue, and Support Program” implemented by İKSV with the support of the European Union. The discussion will focus on how inclusive and participatory cultural policies can be developed at the local level. The fundamental principles of fair cultural cooperation will be examined through exemplary projects.
About Özlem Ece
Since 2010, Özlem Ece has been serving as the Director of Cultural Policy Studies at the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV). She completed her undergraduate studies at Marmara University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of French Public Administration. She pursued her master’s degree in Cultural Project Management at L’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Grenoble with a scholarship from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Between 2003 and 2008, she worked as a project manager and communications consultant in leading institutions of the cultural and artistic sector in Istanbul, contributing to local, national, and international projects. In 2008, she assumed the role of General Coordinator for the “Turkey Season in France” project, conducted under the patronage of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture of Turkey and France within İKSV.
She is also a Board Member of the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO and the Chair of the Committee for the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. Additionally, she serves on the Executive Board of the Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF), organized by the Marmara Municipalities Union.
