The 33rd Akbank Jazz Festival is visiting Frankhan for a party full of dance where the tempo will stay up throughout the night with jazzy tunes. BOSQ, Zeynep Erbay and Recep Şencan will be at the DJ booth.
BOSQ
Producer, DJ & Multi-instrumentalist BOSQ, has been exploring the intersections of Disco & Funk with Afro-Latin styles for over a decade. Since the 2013 release of his debut album, his musicianship and craft have matured without losing any of the passion or imagination with which he approaches every project.
BOSQ first gained notoriety as one half of the Whiskey Barons by churning out a continuous stream of edits and remixes. His unofficial mixes led to a slew of official remix work for heavy hitters like Ray Barretto, Orchestre Poly Rhythmo de Cotonou, Toure Kunda, Poolside, Nickodemus, Rawayana and many more. Signing with Ubiquity records in 2013 brought BOSQ and his own original productions center stage and his focus has remained on writing, playing & producing original music ever since. You may have heard some of his pieces in series such as Broad City, You’re the Worst or The Catch.
Zeynep Erbay
A classically trained pianist who took a turn towards the dancefloor while at university, the Turkish DJ/producer earned her first release on Compost Records way back in 2007 after taking part in 2006’s Red Bull Music Academy programme. Since then, her career has been on an upwards trajectory, with releases on Fools Gold and Soul Clap Records. Studying music theory from a young age, she grew a deep understanding of rhythm and sound. From house-infused beats to dancefloor classics, disco vibes to broken beats, and deep melodies that draw you in, she weaves together a tapestry of sound that is impossible to ignore. When she is behind the decks, you won't want to leave the dance floor.
Recep Şencan
Preparing the show Caz Türbülans at Açık Radyo since 2005, Recep Şencan has been DJing at many different venues and clubs in Istanbul for over 15 years. Being a resident DJ at Gizli Bahçe, one of the most essential music venues of the city, Şencan plays groove based multi-genre sets.
