Considered as one of the most important jazz trumpeters of last 10 years , Ambrose Akinmusire was described by “The New Yorker” magazine : “a thrilling young trumpeter and astute bandleader [with a] unique spark in his playing.” Akinmusire was only nineteen years old when he was discovered by the famous saxophonist Steve Coleman and invited to join his European tour. The artist was the winner of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition which is considered as one of the most prestigious awards in jazz music.
