ANDREA HACKL DANCE WORKSHOP
KINESTHESIA - THE POETICS OF BODY STATES
Instructor: Andrea Hackl
Time: 11:00-15:00
Level: Professional and advance dancers and professional dance students
Hosted by Akbank Sanat, I.D.F Istanbul and Austrian Cultural Office Istanbul, the workshop will start with a movement practice and continue as a work extending to various physical, sensory and kinetic qualities.
Throughout the training, participants will seek a playful exploration of dynamic movement. They will experience an expanding journey, focusing on the soft yet vital power that can be found through the fluidity of the body. The emphasis will be on focusing on ways to ensure the fluidity of the body by moving organically in and out of the ground.
In the second part of the workshop, they will work imaginatively to discover how to use the poetic approach that can emerge from physicality as a basis for improvisational tasks and explorations. Using movement, writing and drawing, a fluid process traveling between different cognitive systems will be realized.
Why KINESTHESIA - THE POETICS OF BODY STATES?
– to move in an organic, released while highly agile and energetic way, maintaining the space within and fluidity of the body.
– to start movement from different approaches.
– to surf movement as an energetic stream, based on release/falling, catching and sending movement.
– to be/come the master of this tool, our body and the timing, dynamic and musicality in which we perform a movement
