Film Score and Its Narrative Influence - Mine Pakel, Saki Çimen
Mine Pakel and Saki Çimen, who work in the field of film scoring, share their experiences with the festival participants.
After graduating from Anatolian Fine Arts High School Music Department in 2004, Mine Pakel entered the Department of Music Education at Uludağ University. In addition to her music education at the university, she also obtained a cinema education. She turned to the field of soundtracks in order to keep her two passions, music and cinema, together. In 2006, she began training in studio and recording techniques. During this time, she was producing soundtracks for movies. She has been a music writer on many websites and magazines and she has also interviewed many artists. Furthermore, she have taught music in private schools. After completing the Innovative Design Academy Audio Production and Design training at Bahçeşehir University in 2018, she started her Masters Education in Audio Technologies at Bahçeşehir University. She is currently developing her thesis on sound arts, installation works and spatial sound designs within the same department. After completing the BAUSEM Music Industry Certificate Program in 2020, she continued her career in the field of sound design, film music composition, music production, music industry, and copyrights.
Born in Istanbul in 1983, Saki Çimen entered the Istanbul University State Conservatory Piano Department in 1994. While he was studying at the conservatory, he started composing, founded the music group Marsias, gave concerts in many venues and festivals. At the age of 13, he started training with his father Mazlum Çimen in film and TV scoring, composed the music for many projects and received awards. Today, he continues to make music for TV series and movies.
