Güneş Cengiz & Adar Geçimli
Two exciting vocalists from the new generation of jazz and the winners of the 19th Nardis Young Jazz Vocal Competition will perform at Yeldeğirmeni Art Center on September 29, as part of the 34th Akbank Jazz Festival program. Güneş Cengiz began her music education with piano and solfege at the age of four before developing an interest in jazz vocals at 15. She successfully completed the Bahçeşehir University Jazz Certificate Program in 2023 and continues to interpret jazz standards in her unique style while also working with jazz vocalist Sibel Köse. Güneş Cengiz, who recently won third prize at the 19th Nardis Vocal Competition, brings her passion for jazz and eagerness to learn to the stage. Adar Geçimli, born into a family of musicians, started studying piano and solfege at seven. While at Aydın Doğan Fine Arts High School, he expanded his studies to include various instruments, singing courses, and private arranging lessons with Mutlu Ödemiş. In 2023, he began studying jazz vocals, jazz history, and stage performance techniques with Sanat Deliorman.
