IMPROV WORKSHOP
Instructor: Jörg Menke-Peitzmeyer
Coordinator: Ömer Akgüllü
Hour: 15:00-18:00
“While I was training to be a Stanislavski method actor, a short bearded man walked into the rehearsal room and started throwing tennis balls around. Tennis balls changed everything. They made me realize that alternatives to my classical, text-based curriculum at the time were possible. “(Chris Johnston, House of Games)
In this workshop, we replace Stanislavski's famous 'Magic If' with tennis or basketball balls, Michael Chekhov's 'Psychological Gestures' with teddy bears and Strasberg's 'Sense Memory' ,with a bucket of water. By using the game tools and techniques of Improv Theater, we aim to reduce the actor's burden of identification and imitation; We strive to provide more fun, physical and experiential access to role-playing and stage acting.
Workshop will be held in English.
