İpek Göztepe - Betty Carter Songbook

İstanbul-born musician İpek Göztepe has made a name for herself in recent years with her wins at the Nardis Young Jazz Vocal Competition and the Young Jazz competition organized by the Istanbul Jazz Festival. She completed her jazz vocal education in Graz, Austria, in 2024 and received the “Outstanding Performance” award at the traditional Student Music Awards (SMA) presented by Downbeat, one of the most prestigious jazz publications in the world. İpek Göztepe will explore the world of Betty Carter, one of her biggest inspirations, at her 34th Akbank Jazz Festival performance. She will be accompanied by Kaan Karadavut on trumpet, Barış Ertürk on saxophone, Selen Gülün on piano, Anıl Deniz on double bass and Simon Shiriaev on drums. The concert will feature Carter’s original compositions as well as standards from her iconic albums such as Inside Betty Carter and The Modern Sound of Betty Carter.

Meriç Dönük approaches music as a reflection of the harmony of the life cycle rather than dividing it into genres. Bilge Günaydın will perform with her quintet featuring distinguished musicians at Akbank Sanat on October 8 as part of 34th Akbank Jazz Festival, showcasing her music that blends modern and classical influences within the jazz genre and draws inspiration from the cultural mosaic and musical traditions of Turkey.

Concert K-Jazz: Sori Quartet

A guest of the 34th Akbank Jazz Festival, Sori Quartet will be on Ses 1885 – Ortaoyuncular Tiyatrosu stage on October 9, Wednesday, with the valuable support of the Korean Embassy and the Korean Cultural Center.

Concert JAmZZ Project

Jamzz project aims to create space for new talents and support young musicians as a part of the 34th Akbank Jazz Festival. The special concert featuring Hakan Binbaşgil on piano, Ferit Odman on drums and Kağan Yıldız on doublebass will take place on October 17 at 20:00 at Babylon.
