KAM produces music inspired by improvisation, psychedelic music, and Anatolian motifs. Founded by trumpet player Can Ömer Uygan in Galata in 2010, the group’s performances blend Eastern elements with experimental folk-rock and jazz. The band was invited by Şenol Küçükyıldırım to perform their first concert at the “Başka Sesler Başka Şeyler" festival in 2011. In recent years, they have performed at several festivals organized in Istanbul. They describe their approach to performance as prioritizing ceremony: “The intertwining sounds of trumpet and keyboard come together with the oscillation of guitar, bass, and drums as they tune into cues from the narrator, whom the music offers up to the moment.” Yasemin Mori, who always promises her audience an exciting adventure with her unique storytelling and psychedelic approach, will intensify KAM’s ceremonial atmosphere by joining their special performance at the 33rd Akbank Jazz Festival.
