Speaker: Emre Zeytinoğlu
Time: 6:00-7:30 pm
In this talk, starting from the meaning of the word "collection", the historical changes of collecting and its evolution will be discussed.
The following questions in the speech will be tried to be explained by briefly referring to the reference texts:
- From what personal preferences did collecting arise, or what is the social equivalent of this?
- Is collecting just a personal choice, or does it have a political and ideological side?
- What is the public aspect of collecting, what are the material and moral benefits or status it provides to the person or the institution?
- What is the difference between collectors of artworks and collectors of other “things”?
