Editing Workshop - Oğuz Atabaş
In this workshop, we will discuss the process of editing from start to finish, the stages involved, the key points that require more attention, what artificial intelligence contributes to the editing process, the advantages of mobile editing, and the focus will primarily be on Film Editing.
About Oğuz Atabaş
Born in 1987, he has been working in the media industry since 2006. He is currently a Film Editor at the TRT World Istanbul office. He has edited various documentaries, TV programs, feature films, and commercials. In the past, he worked as a Film Editor at Al Jazeera Turk and several post-production companies. Some of the projects he has edited include: Tuna Nehri Akmam Diyor directed by Mesut Uçakan as part of the Istanbul 2010 project, the 2011 documentary Hayatın İzleri aired on TRT Documentary, Kurtuluşun Milisleri (Militias of Liberation), Zeynep Tor and Sur Hikayeleri (Stories of Sur) by Barış Yıldırım, Off The Grid: Silent Death on a Syrian Journey (2018 International Emmy Nominee), Off The Grid: Syria’s Slaughterhouses (2018 AIB), and It’s Me, Supergirl (9th European Union Human Rights Short Film Competition, 2019). He was also the Editing Editor and responsible for the entire post-production of Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s film Kuru Otlar Üstüne (About Dry Grasses). He is the recipient of the 2024 SİYAD Best Film Editing Award.
