A fantastic musical portrayal of the movie legend Krzysztof Komeda. A young doctor and a girl meet in a bar. They pretend being cynical and indifferent, losing the chance to establish authentic feelings. Both play a game of appearances while actually longing for romantic love.
The plot evolves over the course of one night. She introduces herself as Pelagia, he as Basil.
They make plans to spend the night together. A shot of vodka, a kiss, an intellectually stimulating discussion, and finally going to bed together. They try to control the spontaneous feeling growing between them. The film presents behavior typical of 1950’s teenagers. It was based on the popular philosophical movement of existentialism.
