Living between Amsterdam and Istanbul, guitarist and composer Mert Pekduraner released his first studio album Geriye Ne Kaldı? independently in 2021 after recording his piece called “Kıyı” for the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale. Following this album which created a core audience for the musician, the collection DIALOGUES IN THE DARK was released in 2022. The album being recorded live without using a metronome in which Pekduraner offered an intricate composition example by also writing string quartet partitions, he is accompanied by Nihal Saruhanlı on the drums and Apostolos Sideris on the double bass. There’s also a documentary made by Ümit Şahin, following an autobiographical narrative around the preparation and recording process of the album.
