Moriarty, is a musical collective consisting of five musicians with French, American, Swiss and Vietnamese origins. Deriving its name from the Dean Moriarty character of Jack Kerouac’s well-known novel “On the Road”, the ensemble makes American Irish folk, besides writing songs that resemble the musicals of Kurt Weill. Enjoying playing everywhere from large concert halls to the corners of the streets, Moriarty sometimes stop by at the bookshops of the cities they visit and give acoustic concerts there. They present their songs, in which they tell stories of hope and love of fragile spirits, in a theatrical atmosphere. Unpacking and opening their notebooks after returning from a tour in 2014, the band came up with unfinished songs and dark lyrics. They will be performing their last album “Epitaph” prepared with these rich materials.
