Musical Approaches in Acting Exploration
Instructor: Figen Ayhan
Time: 15:00 – 18:00
This workshop is designed to enable actors to use music as a method in building stage actions and creating characters in terms of rhythm, melody, and ensemble. It aims to help participants understand musical dramaturgy and how to apply it in their acting journeys.
The relationship between music and performance will be explored, focusing on developing bodily rhythmic awareness and investigating how this awareness can contribute to both performance and character creation. Participants will work with vocal and instrumental music pieces, examining meaning, subtext, and context in songs. Additionally, musical dramaturgy will be integrated into roles and plays, and participants will enhance their musical intuition to strengthen ensemble creation.
