Rodrigo Amarante
Born in 1976 in Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Amarante is a musician whose journey has been full of interesting moments at every stop. Surely it was his composition "Tuyo", the theme for hit Netflix series Narcos, that brought him worldwide fame but Amarante’s discography includes a wide range of wonders. He has explored samba with Orquestra Imperial, ska with Los Hermanos Amarante and released an alternative rock album with Little Joy, which he formed with Fab Moretti (The Strokes) and Binki Shapiro. Amarante drifted through folk melodies on his debut album Cavalo, released in 2014. By saying “I think of memory more as a coloring book”, he presented a colorful collection with introspective songs that carries the warmth of his homeland in his second solo called Drama. Rodrigo Amarante, who has also worked with Brazilian music icons Gal Costa and Gilberto Gil, will be at Babylon on October 11.
