Selen Beytekin
Selen Beytekin was born in Istanbul in 1987. At the age of 8, she worked with pianist Ergican Saydam. Beytekin took part in a cappella choirs during her high school years, and worked with Vijay Upadhyaya, the conductor of Vienne Conservatoire, in the ‘European Voices A Cappella’ choir. She stepped into the world of professional music together with İlham Gencer whom she met at a Tango night. She played at Q Jazz Bar, playing piano and singing, she has also taken the stage with the jazz pianist Aşkın Arsunan. Also an architect, Beytekin had the honour of sharing the stage with Volkan Öktem, Kent Mete, Kerem Görsev, Tony Jones, Ricci Benson, Neşet Ruacan and Atilla Şereftuğ. The young vocalist also hosts a highly popular radio programme on Joy FM. She will be among the favourites of the festival with her repertoire comprising jazz, R&B, funk, soul and blues.
