The subject of "The Merchant of Venice", adapted from William Shakespeare’s play “The Merchant of Venice”, is that Karagöz, who was both working at the Venetian and Jewish Bale during the Ottoman period, finds himself in the middle of a debt case. This time, “Shylock” brings this case to the Ottoman judge. In order to be saved, Karagöz finds himself dancing with a snake again. Adapted by Murat Karahüseyinoğlu and masterfully brought to the Karagöz screen by the imaginary Mehmet Ali Dönmez, this play introduces a tragedy we know with a cultural Karagöz that is a synthesis of the West and the East, and kneads it with Karagöz comedy and brings it together with the audience.
