Biography
Aisling Byrne is an award-winning writer and director working across theatre, film, and television. Her debut short film Headspace won the Grand Prix at the 67th Cork International Film Festival. It was also selected as Ireland's Short Film Candidate for the 2023 European Film Awards. Her second short film, Misread, won the RTE/Ardán Short Film Commission and continues to screen internationally. In 2023, she was selected to represent Ireland at Screen Talent Europe's 'Directors Village' residency. Aisling is also developing her debut feature, The Community, and a TV comedy-drama with MK1 Productions. She is the founder and Artistic Director of Run of the Mill, an arts organization showcasing learning-disabled talent, and a co-founder of the Talking Shop Ensemble. Her upcoming theatre works include Real Life and The Land of a Hundred Little Hills.
