Birdlime

Birdlime is a sticky substance which is spread on branches to trap wild birds intended for export or trade. The film observes one bird who barely manages to escape this industry, yet remains trapped in a cage and surrounded by unfamiliar sounds and un-birdlike creatures.

Evan DeRushie is a stop-motion puppeteer from Toronto ON, Canada. He has worked as an animator on TV series, commercials and music videos, and a feature film, The Little Prince. Evan helps to run TAIS, an artist-run production centre for independent animators. Birdlime is his second short film.
