Emre Namyeter
Untitled, 2023
Mixed media on wood, 160 x 140 cm
Namyeter creates multi-layered abstract works using the paints he produces. Repetitive linear movements and harmony of colour are the most distinctive features of his smooth and simple paintings. His works, which at first glance seem to have emerged randomly without relying on a certain rule, are actually the result of a highly controlled process. The artist creates his experimental compositions by systematically and meticulously flowing paints onto round wooden panels.
Namyeter interprets his discourse through circular forms that vibrate on the surface, rather than concrete images or objects. He believes that perception differs according to one’s feelings, experiences and environmental conditions. His works, which manifest differently in each mind, leave the audience free to perceive and interpret.
