Akbank Short Film Festival, which has created a festival culture that encompasses art lovers from all ages for 19 years, with the aim of encouraging and promoting new productions, supporting upcoming filmmakers who contribute to the national cinema scene, announces the competition films.
19th Akbank Short Film Festival, whose new dates are May 2-12, 2023, announces the finalist films of the "National and International Short Film Competitions.” There have been a total of 2,237 short film submissions from 71 countries to the competition sections of the Festival, which creates an effective platform in the field of short films in Turkey and will be held both physical and online this year.
14 films from the "National Competition Festival Shorts Section" and 15 films from the "International Competition World Shorts Section" have been chosen to compete for the "Best Film Award". In addition, 6 films were determined as finalists in the "Young Talents" competition, which will be held for directors under the age of 20.
The directors of the works that get selected as the 'Best Film'; will be awarded with 50.000 TL in the national category and 5.000 dollars in the international category by Akbank Sanat. The winning director of the Young Talents section will be rewarded with 15.000 TL.
Workshops and conversations that will be held within the scope of the 19th Akbank Short Film Festival, with broad participation from national and international guests can be followed between 2-12 May 2023.
