Afro-Cuban jazz, described as the early stage of Latin jazz, interestingly appeared on the East Coast of the United States before it did in Cuba. This new jazz movement was developed jointly by Cuban migrant musicians and the bebop masters of the East Coast. It has fascinated jazz lovers for more than 80 years.
In this panel, jazz radio programmer Hakan Rauf Tüfekçi and his guests delve deeper into the history of Afro-Cuban jazz and share their insights into this genre with the audience in an interactive environment. The guests include Ahmet Görsev and Atilla Ayginin, the producers of the radio program LaflıJazz, and Hakan Atala, the former manager of Lale Plak and host of a jazz radio show.
