The concept of anxiety is believed to have existed since ancient times. In ancient Greece and Rome, anxiety symptoms were often interpreted as mood disorders or the influence of gods or supernatural forces on individuals.
Cinema: Anxiety is typically characterized by persistent worry, fear, tension, and inner restlessness. Some films delve deep into anxiety themes and the experiences of anxious characters. For example, "Silver Linings Playbook" is an example that explores anxiety themes and the inner conflicts of anxious characters.
Literature: Anxious characters often grapple with inner conflicts, fears, and worries. In literary works, anxiety themes often address the mental states of characters, the conflicts within their inner worlds, and their emotional experiences. Works like Virginia Woolf's "Mrs. Dalloway" and Albert Camus's "The Stranger" are well-known examples that tackle anxiety themes.
