In the seminar entitled ‘The role of Display and Representation in the Setting of Narrative Space’, Akın Nalça will talk in detail about the direct self expression of a story or a content and its holistic fictionalization in a narrative perspective and addressing the layers of conciousness of display and representation in spatial references.

About Akın Nalça
He graduated from the department of graphics from DTGSYO (Tatbiki Güzel Sanatlar Yüksek Okulu). His professional life started as a graphic designer and within time he focused on 3 dimension and spatial communication. He continued working on display design and environmental graphics until 1996. Getting acquainted with Burkhardt Leitner, a worldwide known brand for its modular systems, he introduced modularity in his projects. Starting from the early 2000’s, some of his products have been awarded with Design Turkey, IF, Red Dot, German Design Council and German Brand Awards, also some of his projects have been awarded in the field of spatial design. He has taken part in the board of directors in associations such as GMK, ETMK, SSTD and has been a member of German Design Council. He started giving display design lectures in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2005 and he continues his lectures up to date. Akin Nalca books, aiming to provide permanent contribution to Turkish design, have started in 2003 and continued up until 2017. In 2004, he established Terminal Design to offer different spatial structural systems and solutions which continues to produce spatial projects and design works at the same time. In 2016, his company has acquired Burkhardt Leitner brand and production rights, being in cooperation for 20 years and continue giving services globally, mainly in Germany.
