Mythology; interprets and examines the understanding of gods, superheroes, creation and floods in folk cultures, death and life concepts, especially trying to classify people's alternative stories. These stories form the memory of societies by being transferred from generation to generation. On the basis of these understandings, we will have the opportunity to review the stories and epics occupant in our memories through cinema. We will be gazing at the past through either mythological films or that are directly reflected or through contemporary stories that are originated from mythological stories.
The first seminar of the series to be broadcasted on the 18th of February, Thursday on Akbank Sanat Youtube channel, will base upon Guillermo Del Toro's movie "Pan's Labyrinth" produced in 2006.
