John Surman is one of the greatest saxophone players that the London jazz scene ever introduced to the world. His successful career which started during the 1960s is full of collaborations with many musicians such as Devonian Mike Westbrook, Graham Collier, Mike Gibbs, Dave Holland, and Chris McGregor. Following the albums released from labels such as Deram, Futura, Dawn and Island, Surman earned the “Best Album” award by JazzFM with his album, Saltash Bells.
