"Cinema and Sustainability" Screening and Conversation Program
Film Screening: “Neandria”
Turkey, 2023, Turkish with English Subtitles, 90 minutes
Director: Reha Erdem
Neandria follows a young woman named Suna, who lives with her mother in a village near an ancient city and trains for track and field competitions. The film offers a compelling narrative that explores the collective memory of human history and its connection to nature. Renowned for his visual aesthetics and poetic language, Erdem intertwines the remnants of the past with the crises of the present, questioning humanity’s place in nature and its social values. Focusing on the delicate balance between nature, history, and humanity, Neandria invites the audience on a visually striking and intellectually stimulating journey.
Following the screening, Kiraz Erdem, Sustainable Production Supervisor of the film will engage in a conversation moderated by Merve Selamet, Communication Coordinator of the Yuvam Dünya Association.
