Akbank Sanat continues to bring arts and culture events to art lovers through its social media channels in July.
It has been continuing the series of "Year-round Jazz" concerts of the 30th Akbank Jazz Festival with the band Standards, which has been interpreting jazz standards in different grooves and arrangements since 2016. In the concert that will take place on the terrace of the Consulate General of Austria and will be broadcast live from the Akbank Sanat Instagram account; jazz lovers will listen to a repertoire of classical and modern jazz standards jazz lovers. Standards Group will be accompanied by İpek Dinç on vocals and Gerhard Lutz, Consul General of Austria on bass.
The founder of the Standards group is Coşkun İnsel, who graduated from the St.Georg Austria High School and ITU Electronics and Communication Department and started music in 1972 by playing piano and key instruments.
The vocalist İpek Dinç, who will accompany the Standards group in this concert, met İlham Gencer in 2005 and stepped into her music life. She won the 3rd place in the competition at the Estonian Nomme Jazz Festival after her success in the Nardis Young Jazz Vocal Competition. In 2009, she was invited to the "Young jazz Voices" event held in Latvia.
Saxophonist Yahya Dai who had jam sessions with artists such as Marcus Miller, Bugge Wesseltoft, Joshua Redman, Wynton Marsalis, Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove, Ron Blake, Danilo Perez, Russel Malone, Aydın Esen; gave concerts all over the world with the group Asiominor. Apart from "Yahya Dai Quartet", Kamil Erdem "Asiaminor", Aşkın Arsunan "Blue Print Project", Cahit Berkay "Soundtracks", Selen Gülün Quartet, Şevket Akıncı "Lifeline", Sibel Gürsoy and İlker Özalp and "Kaval Sviri", Ayşe He continues his musical studies with Tütüncü with the "Piano Percussion Project" and "Beck's Big Band".
Drummer Mertcan Bilgin graduated from ITU Mechanical Faculty in 2013. After completing the Percussion Master at ITU Miam, he worked with groups and artists in many styles, from jazz to rock and ethnic music. The artist is also a studio musician and trainer.
