Having embarked on its journey with the goal of creating a short film platform in Turkey, 12th Akbank Short Film Festival will be held from March 7 to 17. The festival has expand-ed its scope with the “Perspective" section, the international screening category created this year. Receiving 822 short film submissions from all over the world, Akbank Short Film Festival reflects well the dynamism observed in the short film sector.
This year, festival focus on one of the world’s greatest directors Cafer Panahi’s cinema. His daughter Solmaz Panahi, editor Mastaneh Mohajer, Sarajevo Film Festival’s pro-gramer Elma Tataragic, founder of Shorts International Carter Pilcher, Hungarian direc-tors Gabor Hörcher and David Geczy, young Turkish director Tolga Karacelik, Semra Güzel Korver with her documentary works, actor Nadir Sarıbacak, Onur Ünsal, Bülent Emin Yarar, Settar Tanrıöğen, Tuba Büyüküstün, Türkü Turan, DOP Ferhat Öçmen, scriptwriter Ebru Ceylan, directors Hakkı Kurtuluş and Ferit Karahan will be part of the festival, sharing their experience. The festival will screen Hungarian short films in the Special Screening section. In total, 104 short films from 28 countries will be screened in the festival.
