Chasing the Light with Cansu Boğuşlu: Visual Storytelling from Photography to Cinema
Cansu Boğuşlu is a filmmaker and photographer shaped by the cultural richness of Istanbul. She gained attention in her photography career, which began in 2006, with her cinematic style focused on female portraits. She made her international debut with her first solo exhibition in Finland in 2008.
In 2009, she was accepted into the prestigious Lodz Film School in Poland with her portfolio and completed a master's degree in cinematography in 2016. During her education, the short films and documentaries she made were showcased at festivals worldwide and won awards.
She further developed her craft by studying acting at Cours Florent in Paris, taking her art to new dimensions. The film Together We Shall Die, for which she was the director of photography, premiered at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. Her directed short film Down From the Clouds won the Best Actor award at the French Riviera Film Festival in Cannes and received numerous international awards, including Best Director in London.
Cansu Boğuşlu continues to live in Istanbul and works as a director and cinematographer around the world.
