Talk series titled “Digital Art Now” which is focusing on the working practices of the artists who work by the means of the digital expression possibilities in Turkey and around the world is on Akbank Sanat YouTube channel. “Digital Art Now” series; while focusing on different topics such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, audio/visual performances, computer technologies, it also includes personal trailers of the artists' journeys of discovery, sources of inspiration, and their careers. The fourth guest of the series, which follows a road map from how artists integrate technology with the creativity, to their latest works, is Ozan Türkkan.
His work is centered on experimental media and digital arts with a focus on generative computer arts, fractals, algorithmic art, virtual reality experiences, interactive art, moving images and motion as a reflection of impermanent nature of existence, human and social behavior. He uses technology as a canvas to create innovative and engaging digital art installations to observe forms of interaction, social exchange, participation and transformation.
New media artist, Ozan Türkkan was born in Turkey (1980). He worked many years in the field of multimedia and digital arts. Before the very first steps in digital media, he studied and practiced various art disciplines in Istanbul, Philadelphia, Salamanca, Florence and Barcelona in collaboration with numerous institutions, and art centers. After he graduated from The University of Salamanca, he received his Master degree in Multimedia at BAU (Escola Superior de Disseny, Universitat Central de Catalunya) in Barcelona, where he lived and worked many years as a new media artist.
His works were exhibited in Art Centers, Museums and Galleries such as; Santa Monica Art Center (Barcelona), Reina Sofia Museum (Madrid), Luigi Pecci Contemporary Art Center (Florance), Torrance Museum (Los Angeles), Victoria House (London), Lincoln Center (New York), Banannefabrik (Luxembourg), Europalia Art Festival (Brussels), Les Brigittines Contemporary Arts Centre (Brussels), Museum of Contemporary Art (Belgrade), SantralIstanbul, Akbank Sanat (Istanbul), Gallery Mitte (Barcelona), LOOP Videoart Festival (Barcelona), Rotterdamse Schouwburg (Rotterdam), WUK (Vienna).
He is currently based in Vienna.
