Polish composer and clarinetist Wacław Zimpel is going to take the stage with his project “HERA”. The artist has been critically acclaimed by the most important jazz publications. Zimpell has already gained a place within the improvisational music world of Europe. He is inspired by the rich folk music tradition of his country as well as the heavy avant-garde vein in his music. HERA formed by four Polish musicians whom Zimpel says aim to “enter into a musical trance which breaks through barriers between the stage and audience, facilitating a spontaneous exchange.” Those who witnessed this experience describe the group's performance as “full of fire and prone to explode in the most satisfying way”. This concert project is organized as a part of the 2014 culture program that celebrates the 600th year of Poland-Turkey diplomatic relations, with the cooperation of two festivals; Akbank Jazz Festival and Jazztopad Festival.
