Speaker: Nusret Polat
About the Seminar: In this seminar, initially avant-gard art concept and political art concept as a social activism form will be discussed. And then, avant-garde politic art’s legacy up to this day from Dadaizm to Situationism will be disputed.
About the Speaker: He was born in 1977, in Ispir (Erzurum). He completed his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctor’s degree at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Sociology Department. While he was working on his doctora thesis, he has been in Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne Üniversitesi Philosophy Department during 2017-2018 academic year with an one-year scholarship. 2009 yılında he completed his thesis named "Good Life and Democracy in Ancient and Modern Thinking". He has undertook the editorship of art magazines as Gençsanat, Plato and Artist. H gave classes on philosophy, sociology, and art in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Plato Vocational School, Yaşar University, Yeditepe University and Bilgi University. He conducts cultural history seminars at Istanbul Modern Art Museum and Atölye Maçka. He is a faculty member at Okan University at the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture.
