Speaker: Emre Zeytinoğlu
In this talk, comparisons will be made between traditional definitions of humanism and the subject, and the subject of "aesthetics" will be studied from this perspective. The overlaps and ruptures between the humanist philosophies that emerged in the modern period and the definitions of "aesthetic-art" will be looked at. In this process, we will also ponder upon how humanism has changed in the face of developing science and technology, how it is gradually defined, and how it is matched with the subject. The conversation will evolve by revealing three main aspects of humanism:
1. Traditional understanding of humanism
2.Trans-humanism
3. Posthumanism.
Within the scope of the above stated cases, we will discuss how the subject has changed and is reflected in art by looking at sample photos and videos; in doing the latter, the aesthetic issues will also be discussed in the framework of artworks.
