Timuçin Şahin Trio
Introducing music lovers to a whole new musical perspective with an authentic guitar playing style and unique compositions, Timuçin Şahin pursues his musical journey in New York, which originally began in The Netherlands. Having completed his studies at the Amsterdam Conservatory and Manhattan School of Music, he won the "Dutch Jazz Competition" and was awarded the "Jur Naessens Muziek Prijs" and Deloitte Jazz Award. Timuçin Şahin has become an important figure in modern music with his concerts which have featured prominent jazz musicians such as Greg Osby, Randy Brecker, Mike Manierie and Robin Eubanks. Timuçin took his name to a whole new and different level in the world of jazz with his 4th album “Bafa”. Raul d'Gama Rose from All About Jazz Magazine had the following to say about the album. “The language of saxophone-guitar dialogues has never been the same after Coleman’s legendary Harmolodic duels with Pat Metheny. There is a chance that Timuçin Şahin may have crossed that horizon after all, with Bafa.” His latest album “Inherence”, where Şahin uses his 7-string fretless and 6 string fretted double neck guitar as a single instrument, has gotten some positive responses from music authorities in the US and Europe. Downbeat described the album as “Deep, featuring some divine feeling, and yet, it is still cerebral, touching and bold”.
