“CRISIS AND CRITIQUE”
Moderator: Emre Şan
The aim of the seminars on philosophy is to discuss some of the figures of modern and contemporary philosophy around the concepts of crisis and critique, which share a common origin. Critique, in the sense of a philosophical contemplation on crisis, inevitably leads to a deliberation on philosophy itself, its status, its ability to describe its own crisis, and its capacity to devise a cure to this crisis. The primary objective of the seminars is to provide a closer look at the contemporary examples of the tradition of critique in philosophy, and to examine the sorts of intellectual and social crises that these were attempting to provide a response to.
Events are free of charge. Invitations can be obtained, on the day of the event, one hour prior to the event, at the Akbank Sanat ticket counter.
