Moderator: Assoc. Prof. Emre Şan
What is the connection between the way we relate to images and our mode of existence in the world, today? How could we understand the impact that images have on our perception of the world, our expression of this perception, and our individual and collective identities? In order to provide an answer to these questions, a philosophical perspective would be required alongside the investigations carried out on the image by studies in visual culture, and in cinema and literature. During the seminar series, we will attempt at contemplating the image in a theoretical framework outlined by contemporary philosophical questions focusing on epistemology, critical theory, aesthetics and politics.
The event is free of charge. Invitations available from the Akbank Sanat ticket office on the event day, one hour before the event begins.
