Sustainibility in Design

In this first session of the talks; referring to the theme, the echoes of the concept of sustainability in the design world will be discussed. In response to the notorious building stock that does not respond to the environmental, economic and demographic changes of our age, the past, present and future of "refunctioning" will be opened for discussion for a better future projection.
Veli Şafak Uysal, completed his undergraduate studies at METU City and Regional Planning Department, and his master's and doctoral studies at Bilkent University Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department; He was deemed worthy of the Young Social Scientists award given by the Turkish Social Scientists Association with his doctoral thesis. In addition to his academic studies, he has worked as a choreographer/director, dancer and project coordinator in the field of contemporary performing arts for many years. He currently runs design studios focused on basic design and architectural/interior design; gives lectures on color, cinema-architecture relationship, spatial narratives and interior theories; He continues his theoretical studies and publications around topics such as the body-space relationship, temporality in architecture, computational design, and the role of architecture in framing historical knowledge and experience.
