14th Akbank Short Film Festival

The finalists of Akbank Short Film Forum is Announced!

The Akbank Short Film Forum, which will be held within the scope of the 14th Akbank Short Film Festival, aims to increase short film production opportunities, encourage production, and support films from the initial idea stage. The short film scriptwriting contest and training sessions are held at the Akbank Short Film Forum, which will be organized from March 21st to 23rd, 2018. From among the 632 applicant projects, 8 scripts are chosen as finalists as a result of the preselection committee’s evaluations. After finalist project owners’ 15 minute presentations to jury members, one project will earn the Akbank Short Film Forum Best Script Award. In this section, successful Swedish scriptwriter Marietta von Hauswolff von Baumgarten will do a scriptwriting workshop and producer Suzan Güverte will do a workshop on production and project preparation.

Tatilin İlk Günü

Father (40), who comes to beach with his wife, son and wife's sister’s family, cannot spend time with his son because of swimming phobia.To re-gain son,he makes sand sculpture.

İmran Deniz Göktaş: He was born in 1994. He is 4th grade student at METU Psychology Department. President of ODTÜ Cinema Club. He worked as assistant student at ODTÜ GİSAM for 2 years.

Yusuf

In the middle of nowhere, in a dry landscape, at an isolated and weird rest place, there is strange business going on at rear room, which everyone sees but ignores.

Gamze Konca: She worked with Nj Hevia as an architect in Madrid. Besides art director experiences, she was a jury member  for AVANCA International Film Festival.

Çukur

Ahmet and Zafer who are two mobsters kill a dog for a job and go to the beach to bury it. Ahmet makes Zafer dig the grave. At this very beach, the relationship between Zafer, the homophobic and Ahmet, the gay in the closet is going to change forever.

Kubilay Kara: Kubilay graduated from Eskişehir Osmangazi University. He has worked at TRT Documentary with Ece Soydam as her assistant. He was working in TV Series as screenwriter at Yazı Odası.

Tilbe Cana İnan: Born in 1989, İstanbul. Tilbe graduated from Boğaziçi University and she began working at Zeynofilm as producer’s assistant. Later, she has worked in TV Series as screenwriter at Yazı Odası. She is working on her MA in Cinema and TV at Kadir Has University.

TOR

Ayşe is an elderly woman who lives in a village with her grandchild where she has a hard life. She makes her living by looking after Tor, the guard dog of a local rich family . One day Tor becomes very ill. The family are away in the city so Ayşe puts her heart and soul into keeping Tor alive.

Ragıp Türk: He was born in 1983 in Sivas. He lived in izmir in his childhood and youth. He has graduated from Cinema-Tv department of İstanbul university. He made a two short films. He is living in istanbul and working as a 1st Ad in film production.

Ziyafet

At the beginning of his twenties, Ahmet has a timid structure and tries to avoid communicating with people   unnecessarily. One night, all the basic regularity of  Ahmet will be destroyed with the scream comes from the   building manager  Ibrahim's house which is Ahmet's counter apartment and the new security cameras will put him into a relationship network that he would not want to be involved.

Fırat Özeler: I was born in Istanbul in 1995. During my  years at Kabataş High School, I gave importance to develop myself in the cultural sense about cinema. Now I'm studying at  Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. I am actively writing short film scripts and trying to film my own stories.

Hayataltı

Old woman lost her husband before years in the  fire of cornfield's  storehouse. When  she have a breakfast in near the heating stove, she stare to her view from her window. This view is remembered her that fire day.

İzzet Arslan: He was born in Sinop in 1994. Primary, secondary and high school education was taken in Sinop Ayancık. Art Caravan, volunteered on cinema on art platforms named Arsiz Sanat. He is a graduate of Erciyes University Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio Tevizyon and Cinema.

Başıboş Bir Yolculuğun Filmi

Bad who records his life with a camera, wants to find “Rewşen”. He lost all his hopes after not finding the bus that he is looking for at the garage. Meanwhile, the woman who wears a grey apron takes his.

Musab Tekin: He was born in Diyarbakır in 1991. He started to  study Fine Arts Department of Cinema and TV at Marmara University in 2012. He has worked for various projects of cinema, documentry and advertisement. He has directed two short films: Pêlav (Shoes) and Teşqele.

Süper Kahramanlar ve Çocukları

İsa (9) is very fond of his brother Adem (15) who has been violent by his father. His brother, who is about to escape from the house, has promised not to tell their parents. However, he decides to find him as soon as his brother leaves.

Feyza Kırcalar: I am a 4th year student at Boğaziçi University Computer Teaching and Education Technologies department. I'm on the University's Film Studies Certificate program. I continue to work on the scriptwriting at the Screenplay Therapy Workshop in the university.
