A gifted singer and piano-player, composer, songwriter and arranger, Karsu is a Dutch musician with Turkish roots, born in Amsterdam. She began to play piano at very young age. Karsu performed to warm applause at the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York three times and at North Sea Jazz Festival twice. The documentary film “Karsu: I Hide a Secret” recounts the story of her life of just twenty four years, and the shootings lasted five years. Her first studio album “Confession” was released in the Netherlands in 2012 and received good credits from the critics. Karsu also won approval with her music video that draws attention to the drying up Burdur lake. She was recently chosen amongst the top ten people that are going to be talked a lot about in the upcoming period in the Netherlands. Music commentators mentioned about her second performance at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2013 that it was so special.
