On Production Design - Meral Efe Yurtseven, Yunus Emre Yurtseven
The role of production design in cinema, the contribution of space, color, and atmosphere to the story, and the elements that shape the visual world of cinema will be discussed with experienced production designers Meral Efe Yurtseven and Yunus Emre Yurtseven, who have worked in the art department of the film industry for many years, based on their industry experiences.
Meral Efe Yurtseven holds a degree in Radio, Television, and Cinema from Marmara University (2004) and a master’s degree in Cinema Studies from the same institution (2008). She has worked extensively as a production designer, art director, and costume designer in numerous films and TV series. Her notable works include Once Upon a Time in Anatolia, Majority, Crossing, Edge of Night, New Dawn Fades, Iguana Tokyo, Album, Chronology, Saf, and Brothers. She has received multiple “Best Art Director” awards at festivals such as the Istanbul Film Festival, Antalya Golden Orange, and Ankara Film Festival. In addition to her film work, she has served as an instructor in short film workshops and as a jury member in national film competitions.
Yunus Emre Yurtseven graduated from Hacettepe University’s Department of French Translation and Interpretation in 2002 and completed a master’s degree in Cinema Studies at Ege University in 2004. As a production designer and art director, he has contributed to numerous films, TV series, and digital platform projects. His award-winning works include Iguana Tokyo, Crossing, Edge of Night, New Dawn Fades, Chronology, Album, Brothers, and Saf. He has been honored with “Best Art Director” awards at major festivals such as the Antalya Golden Orange, Istanbul Film Festival, and Ankara Film Festival.
