The Seminar Series on Architecture will focus on spaces of art in the 2017-2018 sessions. What kind of a new role do spaces of art play in the rapid social and cultural transformation process as the technology of the 21st century gains an increasing impetus? What is the role of the spaces of art today along the axis of social and cultural memory? What sort of spaces do the new interpretations of art and the new renditions by the artists come across? Is it possible to produce new configurations, new scenarios in the designs of museums, city museums and cultural centres – which are the places that first come to mind when speaking of spaces of art – that break the mould, that put new questions on the agenda? Leading names of the architecture scene in Turkey share their art space designs in light of these questions.
